Our Woodworkers

The Experience behind the Work

Every hardwood surface that leaves our shop reflects hundreds of small decisions made by experienced hands.

From grain selection and layout to shaping, sanding, and finishing, each stage of the process depends on material understanding, technical skill, and attention to detail. While machinery plays an important role in precision and consistency, the quality of the finished surface ultimately depends on the people building it.

Our team brings together backgrounds in woodworking, furniture design, fabrication, and visual composition, with each person contributing a distinct perspective to the process.

Garrett "OG"

Material Selection & Layout

Garrett has been building with wood since he was a teenager. After spending time in graphic design, he returned to woodworking professionally, drawn back to the material and the process itself.

He oversees material selection, grain layout, and visual consistency throughout the shop. Garrett is known for being exacting about layout, color balance, and grain flow. He focuses on the small visual decisions that give a finished surface cohesion and character.

Outside the shop, he also designs and builds highly custom furniture and built-ins through his own woodworking practice.

Christopher

CNC Machining &
Custom Fabrication

Christopher oversees CNC machining and technical fabrication throughout the shop. His work focuses on precision cutting, dimensional consistency, and the execution of more complex custom projects.

He has a strong understanding of how solid wood behaves across different environments and applications, particularly when integrating modern fabrication methods with a living material. Christopher also plays a key role in developing semi-custom tables and specialty projects.

Carlos

Finishing & Surface Preparation

Carlos specializes in finishing and final surface preparation, including hand-sanding, staining, and Monocoat and Impermio application.

A graduate of SCAD with a background in furniture design, Carlos brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to finishing and surface preparation. His work focuses on creating surfaces that feel refined, natural, and consistent while preserving the character of the wood itself.

Garrett "BigG"

Shop Operations &
Production Coordination

Garrett plays a central role in keeping projects moving smoothly throughout the shop. He works across multiple stages of the process, assisting wherever needed while maintaining a strong focus on organization, layouts, and overall workflow.

He studied woodworking through the program at Red Rocks Community College and is known for his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and highly collaborative approach within the shop.

Garrett has been building with wood since he was a teenager. After spending time in graphic design, he returned to woodworking professionally, drawn back to the material and the process itself.

He oversees material selection, grain layout, and visual consistency throughout the shop. Known internally as the “wood whisperer,” Garrett focuses heavily on color balance, grain flow, and the subtle details that give a finished surface cohesion and character.

Outside the shop, he also designs and builds highly custom furniture and built-ins through his own woodworking practice.

Finish Selection Guide

Select a finish based on how the surface will be used and maintained over time.

Mineral Oil & Organic Beeswax

Best for: Frequent chopping
Maintenance: Frequent, easy
Feel: Soft, natural matte
Repairability: Excellent

Pure Tung Oil

Best for: Infrequent chopping
Maintenance: Periodic, more involved
Feel: Satin, warmer tone
Repairability: Good

Rubio Monocoat™

Best for: General use surfaces
Maintenance: Low
Feel: Matte, raw wood appearance
Repairability: Localized repairs possible

Impermio™ Film Finish

Best for: High moisture / heavy use
Maintenance: Minimal
Feel: Sealed, protected surface
Repairability: Not spot-repairable

How to Choose

  • Choose Mineral Oil & Organic Beeswax for active chopping surfaces that can recover from wear over time
  • Choose Pure Tung Oil for reduced maintenance with occasional cutting and a warmer, naturally evolving appearance
  • Choose Rubio Monocoat™ for low-maintenance, general-use surfaces without direct cutting
  • Choose Impermio™ Film Finish where moisture resistance and long-term protection are the priority
